Campaign for the release of critically ill political prisoners

There are hundreds of political prisoners with serious illnesses in Russian prisons and pretrial detention centers. They are denied medical care despite serious diagnoses - from diabetes and oncology to the consequences of a stroke.

Many of them are sentenced to years or decades of imprisonment for peaceful activities. They are deprived not only of their freedom, but also of their right to live.

We demand the immediate release of these people on humanitarian grounds.

Our goal is to attract the attention of the public and international institutions, to put pressure on the Russian authorities and save lives.

Who's on the list

The prisoners of the Russian regime are people who gave up freedom and comfort in life and chose to tell the truth. Now they are paying with their freedom, health, and even their lives for condemning Russian aggression in Ukraine, for their commitment to the ideals of freedom and justice.

Горинов Алексей

Alexey Gorinov

He was sentenced to 7 years in prison for his speech at a meeting of the Moscow District Council of Deputies in March 2022. In it, he condemned the Russian invasion of Ukraine and proposed honoring the memory of the murdered Ukrainian citizens with a minute of silence.
Gorinov, 63, who is missing part of a lung, is being tortured in a Russian prison and is being denied the medical care he needs.
Putin's regime is killing him before our eyes.
Навальный Алексей

Alexey Navalny

The regime has been trying to kill Alexey Navalny for a long time, and ended up succeding in 2024.

Politician, oppositionist, Sakharov Prize laureate. He was poisoned, returned to Russia and was immediately arrested. Convicted on fabricated charges.

He died in IK-3 in the Arctic settlement of Kharp in early 2024. His death caused shock and anger around the world.
Кушнир Павел

Pavel Kushnir

This regime tortured to death the outstanding musician and political prisoner Pavel Kushnir.

At the end of July, 39-year-old pianist Pavel Kushnir died in the Birobidzhan pretrial detention center from the consequences of a hunger strike.
Kushnir, a soloist with the Birobidzhan Philharmonic, devoted the last months of his life to protesting Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
